Elinor is relieved of a secret that she's had to keep to herself for a long time. The worst part was that the secret was most hurtful to her. She was suffering so much, but had to keep that suffering to herself. She could not confide in her sister even. She had to deal with the weight of that knowledge all alone. She had to go on pretending that life was fine - pretending that nothing had changed. But her life was turned upside down when she learned that secret.

Man! Elinor must have been so relieved when others discovered the secret she was keeping. Sure, she was still hurting, but at least she wasn't alone in it anymore.
