Having Fun in NYC

Friday night, a bunch of girls and I went to a karaoke club! We had a BLAST!!! What a difference it makes singing karaoke with only girls. We sang songs by Celine Dion, Jewel, Salt n Peppa, Kelly Clarkson, and many others that we would never consider singing in front of guys. After, we were going to hit up this club in the Meat Packing District, but we found out it was just a bar so we stopped by a different club on the Upper East Side. The club was full of old European men who kept hitting on Sarah. But we had a good time dancing the night away! Here are some pics from our fun Karaoke and club night.

Like I said...lots of old men at that club

Another fun thing that I did this week was to go to the New York Philharmonic concert in Central Park. This was our FHE for the week. What a great time! It was fun to just sit and chat with friends and listen to great music all while sitting in Central Park. It was the perfect night for it - not too cold and clear. And after the concert there were fireworks!! It got me really pumped for the Fourth of July!!! Here are some pictures from this great FHE.

(Kind of creepy looking fireworks in this picture. It looks like red skeletons dancing in the sky.)

Happy Dad's Day!!

I wanted to give a shout out to my wonderful dad on Father's Day! I wasn't lucky enough to be home to celebrate this day with him and the rest of my family, but I will be seeing them in a month so I guess that's good enough. I'm so grateful for a Dad who is worthy to hold the Priesthood and lead our family in the way of the Lord. It means so much to me to have the father that I have. Thanks Dad for being such a great role model for me! I hope that one day I'm lucky enough to find a guy to marry as great as you are! I love you and miss you lots!!! I also want to wish a happy father's day to all the dad's in my family. I have 2 wonderful brothers and 3 great brothers-in-law. I look up to all the men in my family. And happy father's day to all the fathers out there!

Quick update...

I know that I just did a post and you are all probably thinking...man this girl is addicted to blogging...but I had to share with the world my update. After almost 4 months of going without meat (see New Way of Life). I had a steak for lunch today. It was AMAZING! We went to lunch at this really nice restaurant (on the firm of course) and I had a perfectly cooked filet mignon. But I do have to tell you that now I'm sitting at my desk feeling as if my insides are being torn to shreds. I guess steak was not the best way to re-introduce meat into my system.

My New Baby

Today was such a great day!! For some reason I woke up at 6:45 am (an hour earlier than I wake up for work) and was wide awake. So I decided to get an early start on the day: I watched 27 Dresses and then sat on my roof to enjoy the sun and heat. But it was very hot today (mid 90's) so I wasn't able to spend more then a couple of hours up there. I tried to stay inside as much as I could after that because it was so hot!! Whenever I did go outside I melted. Anyway...later today (after forcing myself out the door) I took a little trip to the apple store. And...I GOT A NEW MACBOOK!  If you can't tell I'm pretty psyched about it. Basically since I got this thing I've been on it transferring my music and pictures and just having fun. I can't tear myself away!! I've been at it for hours and I've only just transferred files from my work computer - I haven't even started on my old laptop. This process is going to take some time. And I still have to create all my new playlists in iTunes. So much to do when you get a new computer. Luckily it's all fun stuff. Anyway...just wanted to share my exciting news with the world!!
