Happy Dad's Day!!
I wanted to give a shout out to my wonderful dad on Father's Day! I wasn't lucky enough to be home to celebrate this day with him and the rest of my family, but I will be s
eeing them in a month so I guess that's good enough. I'm so grateful for a Dad who is worthy to hold the Priesthood and lead our family in the way of the Lord. It means so much to me to have the father that I have. Thanks Dad for being such a great role model for me! I hope that one day I'm lucky enough to find a guy to marry as great as you are! I love you and miss you lots!!! I also want to wish a happy father's day to all the dad's in my family. I have 2 wonderful brothers and 3 great brothers-in-law. I look up to all the men in my family. And happy father's day to all the fathers out there!

Quick update...
I know that I just did a post and you are all probably thinking...man this girl is addicted to blogging...but I had to share with the world my update. After almost 4 months of going without meat (see New Way of Life). I had a steak for lunch today. It was AMAZING! We went to lunch at this really nice restaurant (on the firm of course) and I had a perfectly cooked filet mignon. But I do have to tell you that now I'm sitting at my desk feeling as if my insides are being torn to shreds. I guess steak was not the best way to re-introduce meat into my system.

My New Baby
Today was such a great day!! For some reason I woke up at 6:45 am (an hour earlier than I wake up for work) and was wide awake. So I decided to get an early start on the day: I watched 27 Dresses and then sat on my roof to enjoy the sun and heat. But it was very hot today (mid 90's) so I wasn't able to spend more then a couple of hours up there. I tried to stay inside as much as I could after that because it was so hot!! Whenever I did go outside I melted. Anyway...later today (after forcing myself out the door) I took a little trip to the apple store. And...I GOT A NEW MACBOOK!
If you can't tell I'm pretty psyched about it. Basically since I got this thing I've been on it transferring my music and pictures and just having fun. I can't tear myself away!! I've been at it for hours and I've only just transferred files from my work computer - I haven't even started on my old laptop. This process is going to take some time. And I still have to create all my new playlists in iTunes. So much to do when you get a new computer. Luckily it's all fun stuff. Anyway...just wanted to share my exciting news with the world!!

The Mystery of the "Talking Seat"
In order to understand The Mystery of the "Talking Seat" I need to give a little background. The building I work in is overwhelmingly lacking in space for people to work. I have been at the firm for over 8 months now and I am still waiting to get a cubicle (that's right...not an office but a cubicle). Because of this lack of space I am forced to sit along a windowsill that they have converted into "desks". Really it's just a slab of wood attached to the wall where I have just enough room for a phone, a monitor, and my laptop. There are 8 people sitting in a row along this windowsill. 6 of those places are assigned out to people as their permanent spot (well temporary permanent spots so they say), but the 2 seats next to me are for auditors for when they are not at the client sight. Now comes the mystery...
Everyday a new auditor comes and sits at the seat at the end of our windowsill. And everyday I'm hoping that it will be different. However, it is always the same. No matter what auditor decides to sit in that seat for the day, they sit there talking on the phone for hours. They don't talk about work related things...no...it's always personal. I don't know if there is a sign saying "if you're not going to work all day and all you want to do is talk to friends/family then you should sit here" or what, but I can't figure this out. And the weird thing is...this is the only seat where this seems to happen. No one else that I know who has to sit next to auditors has this problem. There are other auditors around me and they seem to work...just not when they sit in that seat. Maybe one day I'll discover why everyone who sits in there has to talk all day long. But until then, there will remain The Mystery of the "Talking Seat."

Vacation
This is the longest times I've gone without blogging...pathetic I know. It hasn't even been all that long. Oh well. I have been doing lots of fun things that I should spend a lot of time blogging about. But I'm not really in the mood. That's why I haven't been on here lately...not in the mood. But I really don't want to do work right now so I figure this is the best thing to do to pass the time.
Well...what I've been up to the past few weeks: my parents came out to NY to visit me for 5 days. We had lots of fun! We shopped (Dad didn't have too much fun, but Mom and I did), went to Broadway shows (Boeing-Boeing, Mary Poppins, and Importance of Being Earnest), watched my cousin's son play baseball in Central Park, visited Dylan's Candy Bar, and walked a lot which was good because we also ate alot! We also went to the Natural History Museum. SO COOL!! I really like that place. We did lots of other fun stuff...but again...not really in the mood to blog so I'm cutting it short. I'm so glad they would come out and visit me though.
I didn't have too much time to miss them though because three days after they left they picked me up at the airport in SLC. It was my turn to be a guest. My five days in Bountiful were packed! My first day in Utah was spent shopping with my Mom and sister, and going to lunch with a couple of siblings. Then that night I went to my good friend Craig's wedding reception and Friday to his wedding luncheon. Then it was more family time! I had a sleep over with my nieces on Friday, went to my nephew's (Tyler) baseball game Sat. and then to a family BBQ at my sister Cori's house. Sunday was mother's day so the whole family came up to my parents' house for dinner. It was my one of my niece's (Kate) birthday the next day so dinner was also her birthday party. My family is getting quite large - 27 of us when we all get together!!! It's was so fun to be home and with them all again!!Then Sunday night it was time for me to come back to real life. Now I'm here sitting at work watching it rain wishing I were back on vacation...
Well...enjoy the pictures of my fun two weeks!!! (hopefully these will make up for my lack of blogging)

Playing Tourist in NYC
This past week, my good friend Mikey and her grandma came to NY. We had SO much fun!! For 5 days it was go Go GO! It was a good break from work after a long and hard busy season.
My vacation started a little early. I took the whole day off on Friday (even though Mikey and Grandma Page weren't coming until 6 pm). I sat up on my roof and read, took a walk in Central Park, stopped in the Met for some great art, and then walked down Fifth Ave. Then, as I was walking home, I saw a lot of people gathered along Park Ave and I had to check it out. As I stood around waiting with the crowd I found out that the Pope was going to drive by on his way to some cathedral on the UES. That's right...I saw the Pope. So...he was in a limo with tinted windows, but if you look closely at this picture then you can see his outline. Haha!

But enough of my adventures by myself...the real fun began when Mikey and Grandma Page arrived. It would take way to long to detail all that we did, so I'll just hit the highlights. We did all the typical things you do in NY: eating, walking, shopping, pampering, touring, and going to Broadway shows.
We wanted to get tastes of different cultures so we had a wide rand of cuisine each night. We ate a wonderful Vegan dinner at Gobo, amazing Thai food from Pongsri, delicious Cuban food from Cafe Havana, and a great deli-style lunch at Cafe Dukes. We also picked up 2 bags of the most amazing popcorn you will ever have from Dale & Thomas.

I am seriously impressed at the stamina that Grandma Page has. I think I was more tired then she was at the end of the day. We would leave my apartment around 11 am each morning and not come back until after 11 pm each night. And we saw a lot. We hung out in Times Square, we walked around the Financial District (Wall Street), walked through Central Park, saw Rockefeller Center, took a ferry to see the Statue of Liberty...and much more. Grandma even took a tour of Radio City Music Hall (while Mikey and I hit up H&M). Here are some pictures of the things we did while walking around NY.

On Tuesday we got pampered. Mikey and I got facials, Grandma Page got a mani-pedi, and my roommates Kimmy and Jamie got massages. It was terrific!!! Too bad we didn't get any pictures of us in our matching robes...
Of course we saw many Broadway shows...one every night (except Friday). We saw Lion King, Curtains, The Phantom of the Opera, Gypsy, and Wicked (well...Mikey and her grandma saw it since they won the lottery and only got 2 tickets). All very different shows and all wonderful!! I felt very cultured after they left. Haha!

Sadly on Wednesday afternoon Mikey had to go back to California, and Grandma Page had to go back to Utah, and I had to go back to work. But don't feel too bad for me. I had so much fun the past week...and my parents come out on Wednesday for another fun filled week of playing tourist!! I can't wait!
